Welcome, Dr. Mary, so happy to have you here today.

Dr. Mary:

Oh, Rose, sincerely, the honor is all mine. Thank you for having me.

Rose:

Wonderful, so let's just jump right in. Share your journey on how you became a medical intuitive. I've never had well, I've had medical intuitives. Everyone's different and everyone's journey towards getting there is different, so I would love for you to share your journey.

Dr. Mary:

Okay, well, I love answering this question, but before I start into this, please know that my journey was anything but linear. Okay, I would like to think at the beginning of my journey I was in control and everything was going smoothly, and then life happens and then you just go completely full circle. So my journey started when I graduated from chiropractic school at the age of 25. So that was pretty young, and I came just, you know, out of my undergraduate degree into my doctoral program. And, to make a long story short, by the time that I graduated I really was academically pretty full in my head, but I didn't have the social skills nor the business skills in order to have a prosperous business offhand. So you don't get taught those things when you're in chiropractic school or technical school. So I had the school of hard knocks and the thing that I had going for me, rose, was my resilience, my perseverance and my desire to be validated by the external world. So that drove me pretty hard. I'm almost embarrassed to say that my ego was just guiding the way. And to make a long story short, I practiced as a chiropractor for 23 years, I believe, and in that time I created a very successful practice, what appeared to be a successful practice on the outside. So I had a beautiful freestanding building. It was about 5,000 square feet. I had multiple practitioners within that building. I also had a satellite office, so I was overseeing multiple doctors, big overhead, big staff and, to make a long story short, I was miserable. I was absolutely miserable because I lost my true north, my true north of being in service to people. So, as fate had it, at the same time my husband was applying to take over being a head of schools internationally. So he came to me and he was like Mary, do you think that you could leave it all? And I said I really don't think I can. That would be a big, big, big stretch for me. This is all I know. But life was. I was pretty unhappy, so I was motivated to change and so I. Literally we sold everything within a matter of three months. So that means multiple practices, property, a home, the possessions, everything. And we decided to move to Ho Chi Minh City, vietnam, and it was a big move, big deal.

Dr. Mary:

And I woke up on the other side of the world, rose, and I didn't know who I was. I went through a huge identity crisis, like I seriously, if I didn't have my brick and mortar practice, if people were not referring to me as Dr Mary, who was I? And so I literally was asking the big questions like what's my purpose? Why am I here? What am I? What did I sign up to do this lifetime around? So I had to sit with these things, and so what ended up happening is I got into meditation.

Dr. Mary:

Well, let me back up. I went to go get my YTT in Bali, indonesia. So when I sat with Vietnam for about a month, I was really uncomfortable with myself within everything that was happening internally, so I kind of like had to run away from Ho Chi Minh City in order to kind of go find myself. And that's what led me to Bali, indonesia. And so when I was there you know this is so divinely perfect I was not. I was a last minute sign up for this, for this, for this training, and so I was not with the collective group. My housing was outside of where the group was staying, and so I had a sense of individuality and autonomy that was separate from the group and I literally had time to think and to rest for the first time in my life.

Dr. Mary:

And it was during my YTT, interestingly enough that I started to lean into more meditation. So I've always, for 30 years, have been a yoga practitioner and I knew how to show up on my mat and I knew how to be mindful with the asana and the pranayama and everything that comes along with the yoga practice. But I really didn't allow myself to think deeply into the meditative portion. So I did my YTT, did what I needed to do, came back to Ho Chi Minh City and once again I still had time. So I leaned further into my meditation practice.

Dr. Mary:

I just was really enthralled with what was happening and I was so intrigued I was like, okay, the intellectual brain, my brain, got in the way and I was like, time out, what's happening neurologically within my brain when I meditate? Like I knew the body, rose, you know, you've got your trade and knew the body incredibly well from the neck on down. Now I'm like, hey, hey, what's this beautiful organism that sits inside the cranium? What does his brain do? And so that's what prompted me to go study under Dr Talbin Shahar in upstate New York, in Lenox, massachusetts, and that's when I studied positive psychology. He was the guy that was teaching all about the neuroscience as to what happens within. You know the headspace within the brain when you meditate. And so I was fascinated, right Fascinated, with what he was teaching, and that's what led me to get my degree in positive psychology, so I could better help facilitate.

Dr. Mary:

To make a long story short, I'll jump forward about 10 years, and what ended up happening is that life came really fast. I had the death of my mother, death of a sister, a couple of other international moves, and I still was like in this quandary, like I've made some really solid contributions in this world, but I really don't know what my divine purpose is. And so my husband looked at me he's like you've always wanted to better understand the human energetics. And I said, yeah, but what do you do with that? What do you do with that? Is that practical? Is that something that's tangible? And so it turns out that yes, it is, it is. And so now that prompted me to go to the Academy of Intuition Medicine in Sausalito, california. So for the first time somebody said you know what? Lean into your intuition the information that you've been receiving clairsentiently, clairvoyantly, through direct knowing all these years. Let's pull it together and then hold space collectively with all of your skill strengths. And so now I show up as a medical intuitive.

Rose:

That is an amazing story and you know, while you're sharing this, I'm thinking she's always been connected to intuition. You've always followed that because it kind of guided you to say yes to moving and leaving all your things. And it wasn't easy and it really pulled you out of I'm not going to say comfort zone, because I think you already were comfortable outside of your comfort zone, but maybe a little bit more, and it definitely shows your resilience. That's an amazing story. I love that. Yes, and there's a lot with being a chiropractor the spine is where all our chakra systems are, and I know we're going to talk about that actually, so can you define? Thank you for sharing that story, by the way. I love that.

Dr. Mary:

You're very welcome.

Rose:

Can you define what you mean by the energy system?

Dr. Mary:

Sure. Well, so, listeners, let's just start with the premise. This is my foundation, and I realized that you know most of the listeners. You know, if you hear with Rose, you understand that they're the physical body and you understand that we are all made up of a subtle energetic system. What I mean by that is that we're driven electromagnetically, we have a sense of polarity, we have an ionic exchange with the Earth's frequency, we emanate a life force, a personal, vivifying signature in this world, so, and we are connected into all that surrounds us in a beautiful, intricate way. In a beautiful, intricate way. And so that's the premise that I'm coming from.

Dr. Mary:

When I say energy, medicine or connecting with the subtle energetic systems is something that is available to all of us, not just some of us, not just the minority or the 10 percenters, I'm saying everyone.

Dr. Mary:

If we choose to access some of the most sustainable energy that are available to us, we will be sinking into a loving and nurturing, supportive, caressing, deeply enhancing earth energy, and we're going to have that two-way exchange of releasing any and all discordant energy and receiving fresh nutrients. At the same time, we're going to be running the circuitry of our life force energy, allowing it to enter into our physical body as our spirit becomes fully inhabited within his or her human home, and then we can start to develop some of that kundalini vibratory energy that runs within the trillions of the cells that we have within our body, energy that runs within the trillions of the cells that we have within our body. These are all available to us so that we can saturate, fill up our, if you want to say, auric field or biofield, so that we can show up in this world with more of our essence. And if we're more in our essence, we can attract all that is in alignment with what our divine purpose is.

Rose:

Yes, and when we talk about energetic systems you talked about already you mentioned the auric field, so you call it the biofield as well. Right, can you talk about the chakra system? And I know you talk a lot about the endocrine glands as well. Would you mind first identifying or explaining what the endocrine glands are, how they work with us, and then how the chakras and working with the chakras are related and how that system helps each other, or how that works?

Dr. Mary:

It sure does. I'd like to go back a few steps. You alluded to something that I want to drive home, a point, because I think that this is crucial for everybody to understand how energy enters into our physical system, so surrounding us. I love these questions, by the way, so I'm going to get there and I will answer your questions, and if I don't, you just let me know.

Rose:

Of course.

Dr. Mary:

And so surrounding our physical body is an electromagnetic field that I've called the biofield or the auric field, and so there's a boundary, that is, to our container. So what Rose was saying is that our environment people, places and things are outside of us will put out an energy and, in theory, should bump up against our boundaries right, so that we can have a defense system around the external or environmental influences. But what ends up happening is that life happens right. So we've been conditioned by people, places, things and items that sometimes our boundaries are not as strong as what we would like them to be. There's rifts, there's holes, there's tears, there's perforations within the auric field, and so what that allows is the external environment. It allows an entry point for the energy to come into the surrounding biofield. Over time, energy can violate within the various different layers of the biofield and enter into the chakra system.

Dr. Mary:

Now, chakras are not new age. They have been around for years and years and years in the Vedic sciences and part of the yoga tradition, and so a chakra is essentially a wheel, or I like to refer to it as a vortex, and there's three primary functions of this energy center they receive the information from the environment, they assimilate that information and then they express our life force back out into the environment. Our life force back out into the environment. Now I say that like it's going to be a one, two, three process, and there's 1.1, 1.2, 1.3. There's so many other subtle things that happen internally, physiologically, within the body that give us the ability to respond to that environmental influence. So once an energy comes in through a chakra system right, and you're assimilating this information it will be picked up chemically by the endocrine system, the endocrine glands listeners, there's going to be seven of them that I talk about today. The primary, the main takeaway I want you to understand is that endocrine glands are responsible for your hormonal production and as soon as I say hormones to women in our age bracket, they all go. Yes, I understand what estrogen, progesterone, testosterone are. Being perimenopausal and postmenopausal, all the women know their hormones, but I'm talking about all of the hormones above and beyond the sexual reproductive hormones. So it can be your sleep hormones, your thyroid hormones, the hormones that your pancreas puts out, the adrenal hormones, all of these things. Okay, so again, remember the pathway Energy comes in via the environment, perpetrates or violates through your work field or biofield, hits into a major energy center.

Dr. Mary:

For today's conversation we'll talk about the seven major energy centers, the chakras that you have associated with the physical body. The chakra then receives the information, you assimilate the information and all of a sudden your body starts to change chemically. Okay, hormones institute a chemical change that then goes into your central nervous system, up your central nervous system, into your brain and it creates neuropeptides. It creates a response, a response and eventually it's going to be an emotional response to that hormonal change. So then all of a sudden, you're getting all of this integration within your physical body, hormonally and chemically. Then, all of a sudden, within your physical body, hormonally and chemically, then all of a sudden, you make your judgment and then you express yourself out into the world. It's so beautifully in my world, so beautifully complex and incredibly simple at the same time.

Rose:

It does sound complex as you're talking about it, because there's so many things that it affects, like you're saying, okay, so we have imbalances in our hormones and then it could create sleep imbalances, thyroid, in any of these sectors, but then it may not, so it depends, right? So, like, how do we know? Okay, so how do we know, okay, this imbalance is here. Or do we know, okay, so how do we know? Okay, this imbalance is here or is it here? Is it here, like, how do we know in our bodies that, okay, we're experiencing imbalances? Is it by our moods? Is it by an ache? Is it by what? Can you, what are the signs?

Dr. Mary:

Yeah, yes, the answer, yes. And then some rose. Everything that you're questioning can be happening simultaneously. The energetic body cannot be dissected out without being able to say, yeah, it's 100% energetic, because there's got to be a physical component, there's got to be a mental component, there needs to be a chemical component. So, I mean, this is all happening in a very multidimensional, integrative way. Okay, so, for demonstration purposes, what I would like to do, with your permission, rose, is to talk about the first energy center. This is going to be the one energy center that I dissect. Okay, and the first energy center. Listener, this is the lowest energy of the seven energy centers in the physical body. It's found in the deep recesses of the pelvic bowl. Okay, it is closest to the earth, it's the slowest of the frequency of the seven energy centers and it is connected to the adrenal system.

Dr. Mary:

Okay, now, many of you, in fact I would venture to say all of you know some of the adrenal hormones. You've heard about them. Those are going to be adrenaline, the epinephrine, the norepinephrine, dhea, cortisol. Those are all hormones that are produced by adrenals. The adrenals are glands that are designed to fluff up and produce these hormones when you're underneath a truly life-threatening environment fight or flight. In today's world, specifically in a Western world, we are geared to run in this sympathetic dominance. We're geared to live a lifestyle where we think that there's a saber-toothed tiger right behind us. And so what happens is, if we do this for any length of time, rose, our hormones will start to shut down. Our adrenals will begin to atrophy and the adrenals sit right on top of the kidneys begin to atrophy and the adrenals sit right on top of the kidneys.

Dr. Mary:

And so when you start to have adrenal fatigue, you're the kind of person who experiences a big energetic shift, or like vitality shift, in the middle of the afternoon. Like, you have a hard time, you know, getting up and going. From two to four o'clock in the afternoon you probably have a hard time getting up and going. From 2 to 4 o'clock in the afternoon you probably have a hard time getting up. In the morning you have the ability to exercise. You do your coffee, you go, you exercise and then you flush out your adrenals and then you crash for the rest of the day. So these are the people that are addicted to coffee first thing in the morning, sugar to maintain that high throughout the rest of the day, and then they have alcohol at the end of the day in order to bring their system down and then they start the cycle all over again.

Dr. Mary:

Now you say, hey, mary, how do you know about this cycle? Well, I've been there, absolutely been there, and it did a lot of damage to my adrenal system. So what can happen? So that's the endocrine, physiological, chemical, hormonal changes that happen when your first energy center is compromised Now energetically. These are the life themes that people will be having. These are the life themes that people will be having.

Dr. Mary:

The overarching theme of the first energy center is all about safety and security. Okay, I would venture to say that probably 99% of the listeners have a bed to sleep in at night. I would venture to say that you have your basic needs met as far as having food on your table and a roof over your head, but somehow, someway over life, we have experienced challenges that question our deep trust that we will always be cared for, nurtured and protected. Protected, whether that be abandonment issues, whether that be financial scarcity, whether that show up in not knowing what your purpose is, or you struggle in your family dynamics and you don't know how to quite fit in within your quote-unquote tribe of people that you choose to surround yourself with. So when I say trust, I'm talking about capital, t-r-u-s-t. And so we know most of the women within our age bracket.

Dr. Mary:

We've experienced life neurology messes with the first energy center, the first chakra, the root chakra, located deep within the pelvis. Then all of the sudden we start to see adrenal symptoms or we can start to see the body regions affected by the nerves that control the first energy center, that come out of the sacrum and innervate into this energy center. So I'm talking about any issues that you might be experiencing with your butt, hips, thighs, knees, calves, ankles and feet. So if somebody comes into my office and they say hey look, I have plantar fasciitis, I'm looking at their first chakra. I'm also looking at their pelvis and their kinematic chain. But I'm looking at that energy center. Like where is it that they are not feeling safe? They could have knee issues, hip issues, sciatic issues. They could be experiencing varicocities, hemorrhoids, things of that nature. So there are physical body parts associated with the energy center. There's a nerve connection, there's an emotional connection, there's a chemical connection, all into and interrelated into the energy centers would the lower back be associated here, like the, the lumbar, the?

Rose:

yes, okay, I wasn't sure if this was this chakra or because a lot of people experience lower back issues. You know, related to the first chakra, okay, great, yes.

Dr. Mary:

And then you hear yoga practitioners. If I've heard it once, I've heard it a million times and yes, I think that there is. I know that there is a relationship here. You'll hear most teacher, yoga teachers say, yep, you carry all of your emotions in your hips, all in your pelvis, right.

Rose:

But you don't not all of them, no no, you have a lot of emotions all over the place. True, yeah, but a lot of them are because a lot of childhood ones may be stored here because we haven't yet resolved. Some of them stored here because we haven't yet resolved some of them.

Dr. Mary:

Would you agree with that? Yes, I would, because I do think that the, just like in Jungian psychology, the rest of the development typically shows up in age. You know, associated with various different age brackets, and I've seen the same thing happen as you ascend up the energy centers. You know the seven major energy centers that we have within the physical body that you kind of have the same theme. So if you think about all of your unconditional messages, you know the wiring that you pick up from your environment, by you know, once you're born. I have a belief system that before you were born in utero and then up to like six years of age, that can very much show up intimately within your first chakra. So you know we're talking about some deep-rooted core issues and we all have them to a certain degree. But the more healing that you do within these centers or these regions you know, the deeper that you can unravel some of these issues.

Rose:

I also believe that it's some of this is ancestral, so it comes from the mom or the dad. It could be, I think, most of the mom, because she's carrying you for so long and she has unresolved issues as well and I think that we pass them along and I've heard that also that theory, from from other experts. But you know, as you're describing this first chakra and you're talking about all this stuff, I'm tear. I'm getting teary eyed here because I I can relate to a lot of what you're saying and I'm thinking that the first chakra is the one that we really need to focus on, probably more than anything. We're all want to focus on our third eye and opening up our third eye and connecting with our intuition and our heart chakra. But I'm like you know, I really need to go back to the basics and ground our energy or grind my energy personally, yeah.

Dr. Mary:

Yeah, rose listeners, I'm over here applauding Rose because what she just described is spot on, spot on, meaning that the more intimately that we can ground down, meet and greet the frequency of Mother Earth, trust that she has us we are supported and nurtured, the more we can do that then we can allow, we can trust and allow the energies to flow through us. But very few of us have gone not through the training, but really are committed to the practice of grounding, and I find yoga incredibly grounding. When I step onto the mat, boy, I'm super, super thankful for that opportunity and I love this saying, and I know this to be true, and that is the greatest healing, transformative healing that can occur is when our spirit is fully embodied in her human home. So there's many people that show up on the mat saying, yeah, I love being blissed out, I love being out in the ether, I love being out in the cosmos God, I love yoga, I love this, I love this and they never find their human home and so they can walk off saying that they're spiritually enlightened and really what they have just done is a spiritual bypass. They bypassed their physical body, went straight up into the realms, the higher realms, and they're really. They're creating more and more distortions within that vertical power, current Distortions that show up in the energy centers and ultimately will impact the physical body, because that's the most dense of all the energetic systems to focus a little bit on the second chakra, because I know that this is our boom, our sacral chakra, uh, and how it relates to women.

Rose:

Um, because that that's I, when I think of women and divine energy and maybe some of the imbalances that we experience as women. Besides the root chakra, I think a lot of it comes from the sacral chakra.

Dr. Mary:

I agree. Okay, I hold space for a lot of women, and I have to say that most of the distortions that I experienced happened from the first and the second and then followed by the fifth energy center, and I'll make this connection for the listeners. The second energy center is located just below the belly button. Okay, now when, in this space, the endocrine gland that's associated for women is going to be the ovaries, for men it's going to be the testes, so that's going to be your reproductive hormones, and most people say, okay, yeah, I know what the second chakra is all about. That's all about creation and the ability to procreate and I'm just here to say yes. And it's about aligning and connecting into your deepest desires. What do you wish to create in this world, this lifetime? What are you here for? And our environment is anything but supportive in women in this area, meaning that we are taught and conditioned to take care of everyone else first before we take care of ourselves. That brings me to a really important point, and that is the second energy center.

Dr. Mary:

Rose is most intimately connected into clairsentience, the ability to perceive other people's emotions, thoughts, energies. We're conditioned to think as women in our society. You know what my friend's. Really. She's struggling right now. She's emotionally going through a lot. I know that she is. She's having a hard time. So what I will do, because I'm such a good friend I'm going to hold some of that energy for her, I'm going to make her life easier. I'm going to be the good friend that I am and I'm going to hold some of that energy.

Dr. Mary:

And it's within the space of the second chakra that women do that, people do that, and so then it becomes really confusing when you start to tap into what you're supposed to be connecting, into your deepest desires. You're holding other people's energies within this energy center. Then the information that you get is very muddled. You're like is that my friend's message? Is that my parent's message? Is that my spouse's message? Are those my kids' messages, or are those truly what I desire? It becomes an orchestra of noise. So the second energy center is a space that I really invite women and if you hear my passion kind of boiling up because it's been a journey for me, I'm incredibly clairsentient. I know this energy center incredibly well and it deserves the awareness for healing, because what sits in there, in the deep-seated desires, is just something that is uniquely you, how you authentically show up in the fifth energy center in this world this lifetime around.

Dr. Mary:

So we know that we connect into the ovaries all of the hormones associated with the ovaries. The physical body region can show up as symptoms like excessive PMS or challenges perimenopausal, postmenopausal. It can show up as bladder issues, kidney issues. It can show up as intestinal dysfunction. It can show up as SI pain, sacroiliac pain in the low back. It can show up oh goodness, I am Cysts on the ovaries.

Rose:

Cysts on the ovaries.

Dr. Mary:

Yes, Ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, cervical dysplasia. It can show up in infertility miscarriages. It can show up Wow, so many different ways, so many different ways, and it's multi-layered. I just hope that everybody listening can say you know, if you're now in your 50s, reflect back as to what it felt like when you were 15 years old, what it was when you were 25 years old, what it was like when you were 35 years old.

Dr. Mary:

We go through life in transitions and it is based upon literally the environmental influence of the conditioned responses that come through the auric field and penetrate into that energy center. So when I say, stop carrying other people's energies, you're like, okay, yeah, right, lady, that's pretty hard to do and it is. It is. That's one of the first things. If I were to summarize, if somebody said, well, Mary, what are the top three things that you see in your practice, I would say I teach grounding. Number one. Number two I teach what is called a detached alignment or a neutral separation. So then that's when you can place all of your loved ones or people that influence you outside of your auric field and you can lovingly separate from them so that you can come back to self and have a clear understanding as to what you physically, emotionally, chemically need.

Rose:

You mentioned that the distortions occur in the first, second chakra, but also you mentioned the fifth chakra, which is the throat chakra, and that's another one I agree with because, as women, there are many women who can voice I was thinking about that today that can say whatever's on their mind and express themselves and create those binders. But there's some of us that struggle and struggle and we can't because we're afraid of what other people think and what other people will say, and you know we're not used to creating those binders through our voice or our expression. Can you talk a little bit about that? How can we overcome?

Dr. Mary:

that. Yeah, that's a lot of the conditioned responses that we learned very early on and those are most of us and I'm in this category. Okay, I am not excluded. This has been a serious topic of my own personal healing and, yeah, I was raised in a very critical family or very critical parents, authoritative, they wanted to see me in my presence but they never wanted to hear me. Okay, so when we sat down at the dinner table, I was required to be there at 5 pm to sit down at the dinner table, but then I was not part of the conversation. They really didn't want to hear my opinion. And if I did talk back, if I did have an opinion, if it wasn't in alignment I was also raised by a narcissistic father then that was an issue. That was a big issue if I wasn't in alignment with his belief system.

Dr. Mary:

So these kinds of things show up as distortions within the energy center, the throat chakra. Okay, that will cause a couple of different things. You can have an under expressive, an under active energy center and you can have an overactive energy center. So the under active is going to be who's somebody who's really reserved, somebody who's timid and who has a really kind of a soft voice and then the overactive is going to be somebody who talks nonstop, will not stop talking at a very loud voice. So the loudest person in the restaurant. You can hear them a mile away and they talk nonstop and they think that everybody wants to hear what they have to say. So when I talk about expression, I can say honestly, voice is one way of expressing. It can be through written word, it can be through art, it can be through song, it can be through dance, it can be. Expression is unique to each individual person and so, consequently, the body regions that are associated with the throat. You can look at neck issues. You can look at shoulders, elbows, arms and wrist. You can look at jaw issues, mouth issues, teeth issues, ears. Now I'm hearing impaired so I was like oh, wow, wow, wow, wow, okay, so I get it. I chose to come in to this world being hearing impaired, but it also put you know there was a consequence to it as far as the energy space within the fifth.

Dr. Mary:

I also come from a lineage you talk about epigenetics earlier that I have aligned with an expression of Hashimoto's, which is an autoimmune deficiency of the thyroid, and coupled with it I've had cervical disc issues, I've had shoulder issues, you name it. I've had everything that can be represented within this energy center. Now, there was a period in my life when I was going through extreme burnout and I was miserable and I was really, really, really resistant to seeing the truth that my entire front side of my neck broke out in the most unsightly festering inflamed cysts and I was like, what is this? So I'm like I started wearing scarves and turtlenecks, trying, know, trying to like hide my neck, and I was just like, oh my goodness, my body was screaming for healing. So, listeners, if you're out there and you're like, oh my goodness, okay, so this lady is like triggering me because I'm not looking at my throat. Please know that my intention is coming from a place of love and I'm inviting you not to ignore that energy center or any of your energy centers. Life is too precious.

Rose:

Yes, no, I agree, that was yes. I think that's a wake up call for many women. You talked about burnout before too, and I hear so much about burnout. Do you work with women with burnout? I know you do, because it's all related to our energy.

Dr. Mary:

Yeah, every day, every day. And you know I, rose, I went through a burnout. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna make it sound anything glorious or glamorous, because it wasn't. It was a very dark phase of my life. So I used to talk a lot about burnout. I do now, but from a place of I've restoried it. If I hadn't had gone through the depth of my burnout, I don't think where I would be where I am today. So if you're experiencing burnout, please know that you're not alone. Number one, you are so not alone. You are within the majority. It's just that people are not talking about it. And if they do talk about it, they talk about how tired they are and they talk about their next vacation and they fantasize about leaving their job, but they are not filled with any kind of actionable steps. And very few people are talking about the cycle, know the cycle, the downward negative cycle that happen when you're in a deep burnout.

Rose:

What is that? Can you talk a little bit more about this, like, what do people experience when they're getting burnt out?

Dr. Mary:

Yeah, I think that there's a sense of isolation. That happens, I'll be honest with you. People think that they're alone because of the stigma, you know, that it carries within the, in the culture. Not very many people are honest about their burnout and so they can't really identify. They think that they just need, you know, a couple of weeks off, or maybe they could go work remotely and that would change everything. I mean, you know, everybody has their own little fantasy, right? We all have them.

Rose:

It's like, it's like we want to escape, like I thought, like, ok, I just I'm ready to just pack a bag and just jump on a plane and go anywhere else, just for a change of scenery. I think even just that. You know, we're so isolated more now since COVID, I think we work from home. We're in our basement, we're in our closets, we're in our rooms, we're in our basement, we're in our closets, we're in our rooms, we're not getting out. There's this. You know, we watch Netflix all day long or all night long. It's like where's that, I don't know that change of scenery that we need and coping mechanisms for when we are not feeling well. We need to create those or learn what those are.

Dr. Mary:

Yeah, I look at it as a shift of perspective, so I'm not inviting people. This is what I see meditation does for me, and meditation literally allows me the time and the space to shift my consciousness, to alter my perception, so it's a little bit more expansive, and so those we can the list of things that we do, whether it be streaming Netflix, whether it be scrolling social media, whether it be alcohol, whether it be shopping, whether it be you can think of all the addictive behaviors that we have that we do incessantly because we think that it turns off our brain and it doesn't. It doesn't. So if we can lean into the idea that there are healthy coping mechanisms that will give us more tools and resources I mean, that's part of what I stand for, that I didn't have the tools and the resources when I went through my burnout, and now I do, thankfully Right, and oh my goodness, I can't imagine my world if I didn't have those resources.

Rose:

Right and you offer those resources, you have what is called an energy medicine toolbox.

Dr. Mary:

Yes.

Rose:

Let's talk about that.

Dr. Mary:

Oh, thank you for bringing that up, rose. I'm in the process of there are two cohorts that happen every year, but I hold the space in a 12-week transformative kind of Earth, energy, life force, energy, kundalini. I help people identify their boundaries and how to neutrally separate, then to charge, to cleanse, to clean, to fortify your energetic system. So this whole process I mean it is like. So I've had the opportunity to hold space for others and I'm really starting to appreciate how beautifully layered it is to help support the evolution of somebody's energetic development. And these are, when I say toolbox, these are practical tools that you can do every day and not just for the 12 weeks that you're in the course. This can really alter your lifestyle if you choose it to.

Dr. Mary:

And so then we end that program, the first phase of it in really learning what it's like to sit and to expand into the space of the eighth chakra, where our essential motherboard of our programming. So this is our area of manifestation. And then we begin to use our breath, combined with bandhas, yoga bandhas, in order to ascend up and out into the area of the space of the quantum field, so that we can then begin to align with the version of self that already exists out in the quantum, to bring it back into the physical body for manifestation on this physical plane. So I am, I'm like in the realm of possibilities. To know that I get to hold space for other people in this process is so I don't even have a word to describe it. It's humbling, it's rewarding. Oh my God, it's it then. That's just, it's. That's not even the right word in the English language. I don't have a word for it.

Rose:

That's beautiful and you know. I want to tell people that you have an amazing podcast as well and you did talk about this quantum field and quantum leap and all that. Check out Dr Mary's podcast as well, but they can find you this energy medicine toolbox on your website and also you have some, I think, a free meditation as well that they can sign up for.

Dr. Mary:

I do. So. I talked about the three common things that people deal, that I hold space for when somebody new comes into my practice, and that is the grounding and also the neutral separations and then bringing their timing clock into present time consciousness. Those three videos, or those audios, are coupled together in a free meditation guide, so those are available to you. Please just go and download them and listen to them. You may be wondering what they're all about, but once you listen to them you'll get a better understanding. And then on my website you'll find a link for the podcast Energy Medicine, where we talk about all things that align the mind, body and spirit. And then, last but not least, you'll also find the information outlining all the 12 weeks of the transformative process for the Energetic Toolbox.

Rose:

Yeah, beautiful, and you know I subscribe to some newsletters and emails that I get, but I have to say I love yours, I get yours, I subscribe to yours, so I really learned a lot from your email. So anyone out there that will get rid of some of the stuff on your in your inbox that doesn't belong anymore, clear it out and sign up for Dr Mary's, because it's absolutely awesome. I love it. Thank you.

Dr. Mary:

Thank you, rose. It's been a labor of love and it's been a learning experience, because I, as you can tell, I can get really heady in some of these things, and so I want everybody to have all the information at once. And so then they read the newsletter and they say I'm more confused than ever. So, now I'm trying to simplify it and just kind of make it easier to digest.

Rose:

Yeah, no, I get it and I know I have to be mindful of your time because I know you have a practice to go to and this has been amazing and I know we can have so much to talk, more talk about. But I just want to thank you so much for being here and for your time. Is there anything else you wanted to say that? Maybe you're. No, I know you've shared so much of your yourself and the passion you have for the work that you do.

Dr. Mary:

Thank you, rose. I will say that, as being sensitive, beautifully sensitive, like all of the listeners, I can feel all of you and I can tap into the essence in your beauty and your ability to expand. So, oh, wow, what an honor to be able to connect with all of you today. So thank you.
