Rose:

Welcome to Chat Off the Mat. I'm your host, Rose Wiippich. This is where we explore energy, empowerment, and what it means to embody your Empress energy. When was the last time you had a space that was truly completely yours? A place where no one else's energy needs or expectations could reach you. If you're struggling to answer that question, you're not alone. And that's exactly what we're going to change today. It's 2026. Welcome. Another year of Chat Off The Mat. Another season. I'm so excited to begin this new year with you. There are new opportunities for new conversations around healing and transformation. And this year we're going to go deeper into what it means to embody your Empress energy. You're going to be hearing more solo episodes from me this season, conversations about remembering your sovereignty, stepping into your power, and learning the tools that will help you embody that Empress energy. Because that's what this is all about: empowerment, sovereignty, stepping into your kingdom, reclaiming what's yours, owning your energy and trusting your wisdom. A lot of this work is inspired by my book, Empress Rising, which came out last October. It is a book about owning your energy and trusting your wisdom and at the same time rewriting the rules of aging. But it's not just about the book, it's about the concepts, the theory, the practices, the daily rituals that help us live and embody that energy. Because we are sovereign beings, and we need to reclaim what we have let go of, maybe not on purpose, what we've relinquished through the years of our life, perhaps, because we were living our life for other people, doing more for others than for ourselves. So what we need is to take that back and really shape and focus our life on what we want. So this season on Chat Off The Mat, expect more tools, more practices, more conversations about what it truly means to embody that energy and step fully into your power. I talk a lot about throne energy in my book. It's a concept that I love. So what does it mean? So let's talk about it. Let's let's unwrap it. So a throne is a physical space, right? We can go to it. It's like a place that we can go to move away or escape the chaos that could be part of our daily life. It's a place where we can sit down, relax, pick up a book, do a little journaling, light a candle. We can create a ritual around this place, this space. It's like a sacred space. Right? And you're seeing a lot of this. You go on social media if you do, and you'll you may be seeing women creating a shed, a beautiful library shed, and it's it's decorated the way they want. Or maybe a part of their house where it's just theirs and they invite their little touches and their things, a place that they can go to and be away from it all. Right? This is their place. It's off limits to everyone else. I love that idea. And I think it's essential. It's essential for us to have a place that we can go to where we're not disturbed because why not? We need that peace. You know, that quiet spot where we can have our cup of tea and not be disturbed. You know, I remember when I was raising my kids and they were young, I didn't have a place to go to. You know, even the bathroom was like not even off limits, right? Mommy, mommy, mommy, I need this, I need that. What are you doing? Right. So now that my kids are grown, I can create my little sacred space and not worry about that. But a lot of women are not there yet, right? But if you are, listen up. It's time to reclaim that space back, right? So there are still people that need us. There are things that we must do for others, but it's really important that we do this for ourselves. We need to find that place, that space where we can go and relax. Just be with our own thoughts. Or no thoughts, place to meditate. I think as we get older, we learn how to slow down. Or maybe we're forced to slow down. Maybe there's a health issue. Maybe we're retired, we're not going to work every day, getting up early, coming home late, we don't have our kids, we're empty nesters. So we have that extra time. Some people are uncomfortable with that. It's a time to reconnect with yourself, to reestablish a relationship with yourself, to get to know yourself better. You may say, well, now that I have time, I have all those things that I wanted to do. But do you even remember what those things were? Do you still passionate about those things? Do they still light you up? Or is it that you need to explore other things or give yourself time to think about what you want to do? So it's a time to slow down. It's a time to embrace that sacredness about your time and to create that throne. Embrace that space. I love that. Embrace the space, that space, that physical space in your house that you can go to claim it. Where is it? Where's your space? Where's your throne? Do you have a favorite chair and a favorite room? Maybe it's an office. Maybe it's in a little spot somewhere that nobody knows about. Could even be your bathroom. Someone sent me a video that they created that showed their sanctuary in their bathroom. And they had this little like a platform or table across their tub with their candle and their snack, and they had my book there. And I thought, oh my God, how wonderful is that? So they created their little sanctuary in their bathroom where they can go to and just relax. I love it. It could be even in your car. Okay. Now I know some of you out there when you had to get your kids and wait for your kids to pick them up. You would wait in your car or even driving in your car. Sometimes it's great because you're by yourself. And how many times have you been in your car and you have had the most profound thoughts? I get my best ideas while I'm driving. Now, here's what's beautiful about creating that physical throne. It's not just having a pretty space, although that's wonderful too, right? When we intentionally create an external sanctuary, we're actually building a bridge to our internal one. The physical space becomes a touchstone, a reminder that we have an inner throne that's always available to us. Every time you sit in your special chair or light your candle, close the door to your sacred space, you're practicing coming home to yourself. And that practice of returning to your center in your physical throne, it makes it so much easier to access that inner throne when life gets chaotic and you can't physically escape. Which brings me to my next throne. The metaphor for our throne is also that inner throne, that place inside of us that only we know and we can connect to. Who we are as a spirit, a soul, right? Our spirit is our energy defined in a way that makes us unique. That's our spirit. It's also our intuitive guidance. That inner throne is that place where we can go to inside and seek the answers we need. We forget that we have that. I'm guilty of it too. I'm seeking validation or I'm seeking advice from others. Even pick, listen to this. Even picking out a color for my office, I'm struggling with that. And I'm asking other people which one is better, which is the one that they like for me. But I know which one I love, right? I know deep down inside which is the color that makes me happy. So why am I going external and asking someone else? Why don't I just trust that inner guidance? Now that's just one example, right? But there are deeper questions that you can ask yourself, and you can answer yourself because your spirit, your soul, your inner guidance knows the best answers for you. It does not steer you wrong. We just have to trust it. We have to hear it, listen, feel it, know it. Get to know it. Create a relationship with it. And every time you have a question, ask yourself the question and listen to what pops up. I was recently deciding which taglines for my podcast I wanted to change to, right? So I was given a couple of choices. And as soon as I saw one, I knew it resonated right away. I felt it in my body. I'm like, okay, that's the one. I feel it. I feel that inside. It lit me up, literally. So that that was my inner throne telling me that's the one. That was my guidance. That was my hit. That's your inner throne. You have the same thing: your inner guidance, that connection to the most powerful voice inside of you. So here are our thrones, our physical throne, our beautiful space that you create. That you tell others, you know, when I'm there, just let me be. Create that boundary and let them know that. Find that place, decorate it. It could be a very small section of a part of your home that is dedicated to your rituals, to your peace of mind. Make it yours, shape it into that place. And then we have the inner sanctuary we need to come home to once in a while when things are a little crazy. You know, a lot of times when we are feeling on edge or triggered, we react. I'm guilty of it. I react. We all react. But I'm really trying hard to not react immediately and to go internal before I speak. I want to find out why I'm triggered. Why is it that I react or feel this way after somebody says something or does something? And I'm human, you know. You're human, I'm human, I will react, and then later on I'll be like, oh, you know, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that. You know, it goes back to a core wound and when I was a kid and all that stuff. No, I really don't go through that. But in my head, yes, I'm justifying that reaction. But I know, I know, because I've done some of that work. I know what triggers me. And I am still working on that, and that's okay. You know, how many times have you heard somebody say you're sensitive? And that may be triggering. And that used to trigger me, but now I say, you know what? I know, and I love it, right? I've embraced it because yeah, I'm sensitive. I'm good with that because that's what makes me special. But I'm learning just like everyone that's here. We're learning, we're healing. And guess what? We're transforming. We're doing all the things. And that's why I have this podcast. It's the place to have these conversations with you. It's a place that you can go to and listen to other people coming on the podcast as guests that have gone through life's changes and struggles or making transformations in their own life and connecting with really what matters. They're here to help others, but it's a way for you to say, you know what? I'm not the only one struggling, or who has struggled, or who has gone through changes and transformations and have come, you know, to the other side. And you have the permission to make the changes that you need for your life. Come home to yourself. Come home to your inner throne. That's where the magic happens. So here's what I want you to do this week. I'm giving you permission. No, I'm giving you a challenge to claim your throne. First, identify space, walk through your home and feel into where you're drawn. Is it that corner by the window? How about the chair that no one sits in? A section of your bedroom? Even a closet that you don't use. Even a shelf can become sacred. Trust what calls to you. Next, clear the energy. That's important. Okay, so you grab some sage, Palo Santo Santo. If you're a Reiki practitioner, you can use Reiki to cleanse the energy and clear it out. But even if you don't have any of these physical tools or have Reiki, you can open a window and let the stagnant energy out and invite fresh, sovereign energy that supports who you're becoming. Just open the window. I tell people, just take your hands. And as if you're imagining sweeping that negative energy out the window, intentionally just sweep it out. Go through the corners, up and down, below, above, all around. Sweep it out, let it go. And that's it. Then make it yours. Bring in what lights you up. For me, crystals, of course. You have rose quartz for self-love, you have an amethyst for intuition. Clear quartz is clear quartz is beautiful, amplifies your intentions. Maybe it's a beautiful journal with a funky pen that feels good in your hand. How about a special cup just for your tea or your coffee? A candle that you light only when you're in your throne. A soft blanket to curl up with, whatever makes you feel held and at home. And it doesn't have to be expensive or elaborate. It's about intention. It's about saying, I matter, my peace matters, my connection to myself, my inner throne matters. Once you've created that space, use it regularly. Even if it's for just five minutes a day, sit on your throne, breathe, come home to yourself, practice accessing that inner throne we talked about. When you're not in your physical space, in your quiet time, and you're out and about, pause once in a while. Breathe. Take a deep breath in and exhale out. And in that moment, you've connected with that inner throne. This is your sovereignty practice. So let's take a deep breath in together. And exhale out. Thanks for being here.
